There is a nice grocery store (Netto) including fresh
bakery and meat approx. 4km away towards Schildau. When you
come down the drive to the main village road, turn right and
drive approx. 4 km, at the T junction turn right and the
Netto is on your left after 100m.

You can walk through the forests (they are part of
the complex), access would be either past the Schloss on the
right hand side through the arched doorway or alternatively,
out the main gate, go right around the tower through the
gate directly behind the Tower House and walk along the
buildings (also part of the complex) the forest on the left
as well as ahead for approx 800m is also part of the Schloss
(unfortunately a bit overgrown at present).

Nearest biggish town is Schildau (4km), it has
a number of Gast Houses that serve meals at reasonable
prices. Another town is Wurzen (15 km) that is fairly large
has a variety of shops and banks etc. also some good
restaurants.

·
Bus stop – as you turn into Zum Rittergut, you
will see a World War I & II memorial, on the main road right
in front of it is the wooden bus stop.

·
If you want to catch a train to one of the
main cities eg. Berlin or Prague, you will have to do that
from the main station in Leipzig.
|
·
There is also a train to Dresden and Leipzig
(on a different line) that runs between the two towns on the
hour. You can catch that train at a station in Kuren – I
think, please check the Village name.
